Mission

Quantum for National Security (Q4NS) TAC that shall provide a forum forgovernment and industry to exchange information related to advancing QIST for national security applications. Topics cross-cut with other TACs, but with a national security focus.

Goals

Drive engagement by continuing a member-driven “block” structure. Each block consists of multiple meetings in rapid succession focused on different aspects of a single member-requested topic (e.g. technical introduction, applications, and funding opportunities for a single type of quantum sensor). We anticipate blocks on magnetometers and at least one block on quantum computing.
Support inter-TAC collaborations via joint workshops and reports.
Expand and solidify interactions between government leaders and commercial and university TAC members to ensure there is a common understanding of needs between parties. The goal of this is to lower barriers to entry between university and commercial TAC members and government contracted programs

Projects

Implement new block session structure
Host an information session dedicated to sharing the 'how' behind contracting to various government agencies that fund quantum R&D.
Host a meeting of representatives of NATO’s quantum technologies group to provide an overview of how QED-C members can engage with NATO’s recent quantum strategy, including the NATO Transatlantic Quantum Community (TQC), NATO Innovation Fund (NIF), DIANA program, and Denmark’s Deep Tech Lab – Quantum (DTL-Q).
